Lannion the Alchemical Wizard with Lanthanum Magic — Now with a Free Classroom Lesson Plan

Step into MarBryn, a magical world built on one unshakable truth: no metal, no magic. In Lannion the Alchemical Wizard with Lanthanum Magic, Book 57 in the Magical Elementals series, a small, calculating wizard whose powers are drawn directly from real lanthanum chemistry sets out to stop a plague called the Rust Blight before it corrodes an entire civilization. Joined by two competitive student apprentices, a quicksilver-stepping creature, a self-taught airship engineer, and a healer with a fiercely loyal raven, Lannion races across volcanic peaks, magnetic caverns, and ancient archives toward a former student turned dangerous adversary. Every power Lannionwields, from catalytic transmutation to white-gold fire to alchemical binding, is rooted in genuine periodic table science, making this action-adventure fantasy as educational as it is thrilling.

This listing also includes a companion middle-school lesson plan designed for teachers, homeschool parents, and STEM educators looking to bring real chemistry into the classroom through storytelling. Built around Grades 6 through 8, and flexible up to Grade 9 or down to Grades 4 and 5, the lesson plan aligns with NGSS and Common Core standards and walks teachers through a ready-to-use 55-minute lesson. It features a read-aloud discussion, a mini-lecture on catalysts, three hands-on science stations covering catalysis, oxidation, and magnetism, a vocabulary matching activity, a scored exit ticket, and a creative extension project where students invent their own elemental-powered character.

Perfect for readers who love inventive magic systems and found-family adventures, and equally valuable for educators searching for cross-curricular science and literacy resources, this pairing turns an epic fantasy quest into a genuine teaching tool for exploring the real chemistry hiding behind everyday magic.
