Paperback – Proctor The Alchemical Wizard With Promethium Magic: Element 61 – Magical Elementals Chemistry Fantasy

Proctor the Alchemical Wizard With Promethium Magic is Book 61 in the Magical Elementals Chemistry Fantasy Series, a chemistry-themed action-adventure fantasy set in the magical world of MarBryn, where the ancient philosophy “No Metal, No Magic” governs everything. Proctor is the only wizard alive who wields the power of Promethium, Element 61 — a rare, radioactive, endlessly unstable force that never fully rests, glows faintly blue in the dark, and transforms everything it touches. His magic isn’t granted or trained; it was forged out of catastrophe, bonding him to Occulis, an ancient floating familiar far older than Proctor himself, in the same instant that reshaped him as a child.
When a ruthless former alchemist named Voss Kettering begins stockpiling unstable promethium ore for a catastrophic weapon called the Great Fission, Proctor is pulled from his quiet research into a fast-moving quest across the mountains, marshes, mines, and floating fortresses of MarBryn. He’s joined by an unforgettable found-family of companions: Selvaine Thorncastle, a sharp-witted scout with a mechanical flight harness; Ashkindle, a loyal fire-forged Cinderlynx; Petronella Ashgrove, a quick-tongued ice witch; Cogsworth Ironvale, an ancient sentient iron construct; and Zephyrine Callowick, a fearless wind-rider. Each companion brings their own magic, skill, personality, and mode of fast travel, and each earns their place at Proctor’s side through danger, loyalty, and hard-won trust.
Packed with vivid fantasy locations, character-driven dialogue, warmth and humor, a battle-tested found family, and a climactic weapons-and-magic showdown at Skyforge Citadel, this standalone adventure is rooted in the real chemistry of radioactive decay, beta radiation, and lanthanide contraction, proving that fantasy magic and real science can burn together in spectacular ways.
This book is for readers of elemental magic systems and science-inspired fantasy, fans of found-family adventure stories with a found-family of humans and magical creatures, chemistry and STEM-curious readers who love seeing real periodic table science reimagined as spellcraft, and longtime fans of the Magical Elementals Chemistry Fantasy Series looking for the next installment. It’s an excellent entry point for new readers as well — no prior books required.
